  • Iron Infusion Therapy (Coming Soon)

We will offer IV iron treatments in-office to address iron deficiency anemia without delay.

Surgery/Pre-op Evaluations

Surgical outcomes improve when hematologic issues are addressed proactively. We collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patients are medically optimized before going under the knife.

Our pre-operative hematology services include:

  • Bleeding & Clotting Risk Assessment - Evaluation for inherited or acquired bleeding disorders, as well as thrombophilia screening.

  • Pre-Operative Anemia Correction - Diagnosis and treatment of anemia to reduce transfusion risk and promote healing.

  • Iron Deficiency Treatment - IV iron therapy when needed to elevate hemoglobin safely prior to elective procedures.

  • Perioperative Anticoagulation Management - Guidance on when to stop, bridge, or resume blood thinners safely around surgery.

Orthopedics

We provide comprehensive pre-operative hematology evaluations to help ensure a smooth, safe surgical experience including

  • Anemia Workup & Optimization – Correct low blood counts for better healing and recovery.
  • Coagulation Disorder Assessment – Identify and manage conditions like von Willebrand disease or antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.
  • Thrombosis Risk Evaluation – Evaluate clotting risks and recommend personalized perioperative anticoagulation strategies.

Phlebotomy Services

At Brodsky Hematology, we also offer in-office therapeutic phlebotomy for patients with elevated hemoglobin and red blood cell counts.

Common Indications for Phlebotomy Include:

  • Erythrocytosis (elevated red blood cell count)
  • Polycythemia Vera
  • Hyperferritinemia (high ferritin levels)
  • Other conditions causing elevated hemoglobin or hematocrit

Therapeutic phlebotomy is a safe, proven method to reduce excess red blood cells or iron levels in the blood. This procedure helps reduce the risk of complications such as blood clots, fatigue, and organ damage.

If you’ve been diagnosed with any of the above or need regular phlebotomy, contact our office to learn more about how we can help manage your care.
